Frequently Asked Questions
How can The Roots help me?
What do therapy sessions look like?
Therapy sessions at The Roots create a friendly and welcoming space where young people can explore their feelings and personal growth over 6 to 12 weekly sessions. Here’s what to expect:
Comfortable Atmosphere: Our sessions are warm and non-judgmental, making sure everyone feels at ease sharing their experiences.
Skilled Guides: Our therapists know what they are doing! Especially when it comes to working with different backgrounds. They’re there to offer support, guidance, and strategies that fit your age and situation.
Tailored Experience: Whether you’re a young person or a parent/carer, therapy is all about you. We customise it to your needs and preferences.
Privacy First: What you talk about in therapy stays between us, building trust and openness. The only time we might have to share something is if we’re worried about you or someone else.
Open Chat: Our therapists are all about listening to you. They want to hear what’s on your mind and make sure you have a say in how your therapy journey goes.
How do I know if I need support with my wellbeing?
It’s great that you’re paying attention to your wellbeing. Experiencing ups and downs is a normal part of life but sometimes we experience changes to how we think, feel and behave that make daily life more difficult or less enjoyable. For example, we might feel more worried than usual or find it difficult to do things we used to do. This is when it’s helpful to talk to a trusted adult or mental health professional. They can help you to figure out what’s going on, what you can do and what support might make things better. ‘
